59132
An official photograph of the first class area of M59132, the first class 104 centre car (BRCW)
59134
M59134 can just be seen on the far left of a row of condemned Cravens and Gloucester vehicles at Whitemoor Down Hump Yard. Left to right were 59134, 50791, 50758, 55990, 50809 & 50776 (Bryan Dawes)
59137
Later preserved by the BRCW Group.
M59137 stabled in the centre road at Buxton, in a typical Rail Blue liveried Class 104 3-car set (Andrew)
M59137 and 03073 stand condemned at Chester. Both were to escape scrapping, with M59137 moving to the Churnet Valley Railway and 03073 to The Railway Age at Crewe (Chris Lemon)
59143
A very crisp view of M50483/M59143/M50423 departing the now closed station at Miles Platting. The station has an air of dereliction already, in contrast to the Class 104 which has recently been repainted (David Ingram)
59144
M59144 stands at Newton Heath, fully visible due to the removal of the set's DMBS vehicle, presumably for maintenance work. Prominent is the first class 1 marking on the door, the only such vestibule in a 104 set dedicated to first class entry/exit (Brian Daniels)
M59144 was one of the Class 104 trailer cars which spent their final days running in between Blue/Grey liveried Class 108 vehicles, seen at Settle in such a formation (Richard Stiles)
59148
With a stroke of luck, M59148 is the only identifiable vehicle in this 104 haven in the station at Buxton (Les Nixon)
M59148 stabled in the centre road at Buxton, running its final services in between two Class 108 powercars. By this time the vehicle had been declassified to all second class, however the comfy 1st class seating remained, a fact that savvy passengers no doubt realised very quickly! (Nick Y)
59149
M59149, awaiting departure from Manchester Piccadilly. Several Class 104 centre cars were formed in between Class 108 powercars, but M59149 sits better than most owing to the fact that it carries matching Blue/Grey livery (Chris Tolley)
A side view of M59149 split off from its set at Doncaster Works (Alan Wass)
59152
M59152 stabled at the end of the centre road at Buxton, overshadowed by the stone gable end remains of the original station roof, with distinctive arched window (Lee Brown)
59158
M59158 split off from its set at Newton Heath, with class 108 M56251 alongside. The numbers of both vehicles are not 100% certain due to a slight blur in the photo (Peter Wheatley)
59163
M59163 stabled at Leicester (Dennis Taylor)
A rare photograph of 59163, one of a pair of Class 104 trailer cars repainted into Network SouthEast livery, seen at Oxford in between two Class 117 powercars. It was working the 12:48 Oxford-Paddington (Alan Wass)
Set L428, formed 51408/59163/51366, stands at Oxford working the 12:48 Oxford-Paddington (Alan Wass)
59165
M59165 stabled on its own at an unknown location (Kevin Cooke)
59166
M59166 condemned at Longsight (Paul Soane)
56168
59168 condemned at Snailwell, just before scrapping. This was one of the blue & grey liveried centre cars (Nick Y)
59181
Quite a few of the later built centre cars had their suspension modified for working higher speed services between Manchester & Blackpool, M59181 being one of these. Note the Class 52 Western coupled to the vehicle (Paul Redmond)
59182
M59182 seen separated from the rest of its set at Newton Heath depot (Brian Daniels)
Newton Heath: two months after the previous picture, M59182 does not appear to have moved from the same spot, suggesting an extended period out of use (Jerry Glover)
59183
M59183 condemned at Chester. Its seats have been removed (Robert Simpson)
59186
An extremely rare view depicing a green liveried set where the centre car is the closer subject. M59186 is seen at Water Orton, most probably in its as-built formation which would make the powercar beyond M50530 (Michael Mensing)
59187
M59187 is seen at Colwick Trading Estate running between Class 108 powercars M53634 & M53948, eastbound on a route learning working (Alan Wass)
