The BRCW Group are a group of volunteers responsible for the preservation, restoration and operation of twelve 1950's Class 104 diesel railcars, spread across three heritage railways in the UK.

We have been successful in returning five vehicles to regular passenger service
with restoration of a sixth currently in progress.

This website provides the latest news of these railcars, background information and an online resource for the history of the Class 104.

The BRCW Group control 12 Class 104 vehicles formed into five sets. Each has its own home, restoration story and history, all of which are chronicled in this section.

Quality Restoration

Our main activity is the restoration of these historic vehicles from scrap to operational condition. See how we have achieved this and find out how you could get involved. Volunteers are always required!
